Inventory Control / Warehouse Manager at DRYVA Logistics

Job Summary

  • The Inventory Control/Warehouse Manager role reports to the National Warehousing Lead, and may act as deputy to the warehouse Manager.
  • While this role sits in Abuja (FCT) you may also have the opportunity to work in other cities.

Job Responsibilities

Inbound Freight:

  • Manage the warehouse operating system for effective stock control and record management, and maintain accurate inventory of all shipments
  • Ensure day-to-day inventory transaction (stock card, bin card, inventory reports and related documents) are updated on a real-time basis with accuracy.
  • Supervise the loading and offloading of goods into the warehouse by the warehouse loaders.
  • Count all products, compare to waybill and check all shipments for damage, infestation and production code dates
  • Report shortages, damages and mis-shipments on appropriate forms, and communicate any discrepancies observed during receipt or release of goods to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Record daily transactions in warehouse register.
  • WMS Expert User: perform goods receipt, shipment and reconciliation on company’s WMS
  • File warehouse documents online and in physical folders as may be required.
  • Sign for inbound shipments when / where necessary
  • Receive and Photocopy Waybills.
  • Witness Seal Cutting.
  • Truck arrival, loading and dispatch time tracking.
  • Conduct truck inspection before loading.
  • Handling of trade returns from customers
  • Confront all unsafe behavior.
  • Confront all quantity deviations and track accordingly.
  • FP receiving knowledge.

Warehouse Storage, Controls & Safety

  • Maximize space usage and safely put away items on the floor or racks
  • Implement (FIFO, FEFO, LIFO) procedures for goods in the warehouses.
  • Ensure good arrangement of storage facilities with appropriate layout, and signs display in strategic locations.
  • Assign tasks and supervise the working of casual workers.
  • Ensure receiving and loading areas are top notch always.
  • Ensure physical security of the Warehouse by restricting visitors and any other unauthorized persons.
  • Implement and ensure clear safety procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping standard at the loading docks and storage areas
  • Conduct daily warehouse tour
  • Ensure the warehouse is regularly fumigated against pest, rats, rodents etc.,
  • Maintain and periodically service fire extinguishers.

Order Picking & Outbound Freight:

  • Ensure timely dispatch of products from the DC with appropriate documentations and accurate update in close collaboration with Fleet Manager
  • Ensure correct number and type of product is picked
  • Stencil, tag or mark orders as required
  • Compare quantity, labelling and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct
  • Accept signatures for outbound as necessary
  • Efficiently move product into outbound delivery vehicles

Inventory Management:

  • Compile, maintain and analyze inventory reports.
  • Keep accurate records and reports
  • Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipment and stock level
  • Evaluate deliveries, shipment and product levels to improve inventory control procedures
  • Track inventory levels and outgoing orders
  • Analyze daily product and supply levels
  • Ensure proper stock rotation
  • Check shipments going in and out of the site
  • Support periodic cycle count as per the standard operating procedure
  • Update stock cards for goods in the warehouse.
  • Understand internal controls related to inventory management.
  • Lead any Inventory variation troubleshooting.
  • Manage nonperforming inventory (NPI)
  • Subject to auditor’s approval, raise system adjustment for finished product discrepancy.
  • Identify and report on frequent issues that create inventory discrepancies and suggest corrective actions to be implemented to avoid re occurrences of the problems.
  • Train other employees in inventory management
  • Complete any other projects as needed and other duties assigned
  • Track and prepare expiry reports
  • Solve critical shipment / receiving issue

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc or HND in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering or equivalent in a highly analytical field from a reputable institution.
  • Must have completed the NYSC program.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in warehousing, supply chain and logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and PPT).
  • Exceptional computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Supply chain/logistics certification might be an advantage
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Attention to details, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
