Work Experience

  • Not less than 5 years HANDS-ON experience in Solar/Siemens/GE LM1600 Turbines, Siemens Compressors, Turbines and Compressors Accessory Drives, Caterpillar Engines/Gen Sets (35-series & C-series), expert utilization of specialist diagnostic tools & equipment (e.g. ET, DDT) with demonstrated excellent skills in Technical Reports writing.

Technology/ Equipment Competences

  • Skilled in Turbines and Compressors troubleshooting and repairs
  • Skilled in Caterpillar gas/diesel engines troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Skilled in EMSCO reciprocating pumps maintenance and repairs.
  • Skilled in National Oilwell reciprocating pumps maintenance and repairs.
  • Skilled in centrifugal pumps maintenance and repairs
  • Skilled in Atlas Copco and Gardener Denver instrument air compressor repair and maintenance
  • Skilled in use of Caterpillar diagnostic tools (ET, DDT, FUEL PUMP TIMING & MANO-METER)
  • Skilled in Perkins and Caterpillar engines overhauls
  • Skilled in Technical report writing

Professional Certifications

  • Level 1 or 3 Maintenance Training/Certification in Turbines & Compressors Maintenance
  • NSE/COREN Membership (would be considered added advantage)
  • HSE Training Certificate (would be considered added advantage)

Technical Skills

  • Ability to demonstrate in-depth discipline expertise to the operation and maintenance of rotating equipment in remote locations
  • Ability to review and analyze all equipment failure pattern
  • Ability to trends failure pattern and offer parament solution.
  • Ability to work on engines (diesel & gas) and pumps without supervision
  • Ability to lead and manage technical crew for field call-outs
  • To support other Teams for intervention activities in utility power sub-stations and locations
  • Ability to carry out troubleshooting on diesel / gas engines and pumps
  • Ability to carry put repair works on engine accessories (starter motor, butterfly assembly, diesel/gas engine fuel systems, emergency shutdown switches etc)
  • Ability to carry out prevent and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (Engines, pumps, compressors)
  • Ability to execute routine FLM (First Line Maintenance) checks on running equipment
  • Support in carrying Fluid-End inspection on reciprocating pumps
  • Ability to work in AGG air compressors, emergency fire pumps
  • Ability to identify and use / operate specialist tools, including power and hand tools and machinery to perform various inspections, repairs and analysis on equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools during overhaul and troubleshooting (ET, DDT, FUEL TIMING & MANO-METER)

Ability to provide technical support to contractor, analyzing, identifying mechanical potential problems.

The work location is Office-based in Port Harcourt and shallow Offshores/Swamp-field based (East & West Shell facilities) accessible via the Helicopter, as business demands.

  • The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to 4pm) routine over a 5-day working period or 12-hour (7am to 7pm) routine over a 14-day cycle period dependent on prevailing circumstance.
  • The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
  • There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
