Accountant and Administrative Officer at Wizer Resource+ Advisory

Purpose of Role

  • To ensure accurate record-keeping of the Firm’s transactions, timely remittance of taxes and other returns; and preparation of financial statements.
  • Liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders. Support with other administrative and people issues.

Top Accountabilities

  • Process requisitions and reimbursements
  • Handle all bank transactions
  • Maintain bank and cash payment vouchers
  • Ensure proper maintenance of internal control processes
  • Billing and maintaining clients’ payment records
  • Follow up with clients and responsible staff on receivables
  • Institute adequate cash flow management strategies
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Develop and monitor monthly and annual budgets
  • Prepare monthly reports that compare budgeted financial performance with actuals
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with appropriate standards
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial statements
  • Serve as key contact person for tax consultant and external auditors
  • Summarize financial data for management, auditors and other stakeholders (debtors ageing analysis, collection reports, etc.)
  • Prepare tax/statutory returns, ensuring compliance with all tax/statutory provisions
  • Where applicable, ensure accuracy of tax computations/returns prepared by Tax Consultant
  • Make recommendations on accounting policies and procedures
  • Support the Firm’s recruitment process as may be required
  • Maintain accurate employee database
  • Manage periodic/day-to-day administrative tasks (staff leave, payroll, remittance of statutory deductions, etc.)
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and
  • Involvement in other Firm matters, administration and general support, as required.

Desired Qualifications / Skill Set

  • B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance or related discipline
  • ICAN / ACCA certification is an added advantage
  • General bookkeeping / accounting / IFRS knowledge
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
