Roles and Responsibilities
The logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Manage day-to-day incoming and outgoing field materials and equipment.
- Facilitate the flow of materials across various PUs – inspecting goods, comparing goods with specifications; handling inventories; tracking orders; checking quality levels, check discrepancies (like damaged or unmarked parts), and contact Asset West person to receive materials from vendors.
- Confer with PU supervisors for defining overdue material & parts, availability of stock and order priority, inform supervisors of material status.
- Liaise with warehouse team and physically check material availability and status at the Warri warehouse to support field team.
- Compile and maintain material and parts inventory / status information to expedite movement of material & parts between production areas.
- Ensure equipment and materials are safely packaged, loaded, and secured on Trucks and barges, to eliminate falling, rolling and any damage to materials through weather, waves and strong winds.
- Liaising with land and marine logistics team for mobilization of logistics support equipment and convoy to various field locations in West Asset (Northbank PU, Otumara PU, Tunu PU, etc).
- Procurement of adhoc low-cost consumable materials, local market survey and cost benchmarking of other materials.
- Physically monitoring of field equipment sent for repairs in the Warri Production Workshop and facilitation of return to the field location after repair completion.
- Support field planners in arranging inter-field flight bookings to various field locations.
- Warri focal point for commercial flight booking request (Warri to Lagos, Abuja, etc) and local hotel booking requests.
- Receive Government Officials enroute to location and act as protocol to support seamless flight and accommodation arrangement.
- Arrange land logistics movement and security escort for land movements and pick up Government Officials in Warri.
- Support weekend duty continuity and emergency response operations.
- Supervising West Asset material handlers at Ogunu IA for effective receipt, stocking, and release of materials.
- Prepare appropriate dispatching documentations for loaded vehicles/barges.
- Monitor movement of Vehicle and Barge until desired destinations are reached.
- Send out manifest of conveyed materials and equipment to appropriate recipients at Locations and Shell IA.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
Work Schedule/ Location
- Working hours are usually 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday and office-based in Warri
- May be required to work on weekends or travel out of base location for days to SPDC field’s locations in onshore, swamp, or offshore locations and contractor site visits.
