JOB ACCOUNTABLITIES

The Regional Sales Manager will have these key job responsibilities.

  • Lead, develop and supervise assigned region and team of medical sales representative to drive and deliver sales and revenue target through the implementation of company’s sales strategy vis a vis personal selling and group selling to government & private hospitals and pharmacies.
  • Coach, coordinate, manage and provide guidance and ethical leadership for the sales team to improve brand and team performance and build a high-performing team.
  • Manage company’s regional business distribution channels to achieve discernible growth as measured with known key performance index (KPIs).
  • Aggressively increase prescription and sales of pharmaceutical product while ensuring brand penetration and market share growth across region.
  • Build and nurture relationship with senior healthcare professionals (Consultants) to influence prescription pattern and sales.
  • He/she will also oversee the growth of brands market share (volume/value) and profitability; and oversee brand strategy implementation.
  • He/she will travel across the territories within the region of coverage working with sales team to ensure achievement regional sales and revenue objectives.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • External: Doctors (including Consultants), Pharmacists, HCP Associations, Distributors
  • Internal: Sales team, NSM, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Admin. and HR departments.

QUALIFICATION & SKILL SET

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Physiology or Biochemistry. MBA degree may be an advantage.
  • Robust pathology, pharmacology, and promotion/marketing knowledge to support team coaching, product differentiation and promotion to target Healthcare practitioners (HCPs).

Skill Set and Other Requirement

  • Impressive basic selling skills to deliver sales in personal or group selling setting.
  • Remarkable man-management, coaching, mentoring, leadership skills.
  • Enviable and demonstrable business, relationship, negotiation & deal-closing skills.
  • Broad knowledge of the region’s geographical landscape, region’s market dynamics and business terrain especially institutional and private hospital business in the chosen region.
  • Good sales forecasting skill; ability to develop & implement workable business plan in each territory through team member.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years cognate managerial experience as an Area Sales or Regional Sales Manager in a structured and ethical-oriented pharmaceutical company.
  • Candidate must have previously worked as a Medical Sales Representative for at least 2 years in a pharmaceutical company before taking up Managerial role.
